Causes
Closing the collet while the B-axis (sub-spindle) is not at its home position triggers 252. Also surfaces during sp1→sp2 transfer when chuck 2 is in the wrong open/closed state.

It began when I attempted to run a sp1 -> sp2 transfer but chuck 2 was open so it through an alarm. I hit reset, jogged the turret away and the alarm wont clear. I restarted the machine but the error won't allow B to hom…

How to clear it
- 1
Power-cycle the machine. A single power-down may not clear it; one operator reports a second power cycle was needed.
- Cole2534forum
Welp. 1 more power cycle was the answer, I guess.

Additional notes
Operator who triggered it during a sp1→sp2 transfer was locked out from re-homing the B-axis until they did a second power cycle. Get the sub-spindle and chuck states correct in the program before re-running.
Confidence: medium · Two operators in the same thread describe the same root pattern (closing collet with sub-spindle off-home, or running a transfer with the wrong chuck state). Power-cycle is the only documented clear.
