Causes
Tailstock quill was not homed after E-stop was pressed — the control no longer knows where the tailstock is. On QT machines without a tailstock installed, the alarm fires when the tailstock limit switch position is wrong.

Alarm 293 pops up most commonly because you are pushing the E-stop button for some reason.

In my machine tailstock is removed. Limit switch in tailstock box was moved. After set the limit switch problem is solved.

How to clear it
- 1
Extend the tailstock quill fully, then retract it. The control will re-acquire the home position and the alarm will clear.

If the tailstock has been removed from the machine, the issue is at the tailstock-box limit switch — verify the switch is in the position the control expects.
